History

The "Bill" in Billcon refers to the word "bill," meaning paper money, and "con" refers to "counter.," The name originated from the bill counters thats have been the company's main product since its establishment.

1962
Tokyo Calculating Machine Works was established in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo as a manufacturer specializing in banknote counting machines.
Marketed the world's first friction method banknote counting machine.
1971
Merged with Tokyo Automatic Machinery Works and the name of the company was changed to BILLCON. The office was moved to Hisamoto, Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki City and Jin Sasako became President and Representative Director.
1973
Introduced the EL-2 type ballot paper counting machine.
1974
Billcon Corporation of America was established in the suburbs of Torrance Ca.
1976
Built factory in Kawawacho, Midori-ku, Yokohama City.
1977
New coin counting model CV-200 introduced.
1981
Built new factory in Kuji, Kawasaki City.
1982
Commenced marketing new model S-1400 that sorted and counted damaged banknotes.
1983
New products introduced to line, Coin Sorter-Counter CS-60 / 80 and Note dispenser KD-100.
1988
Established Billcon Service Co., Ltd.
Masaharu Hirooka became President and Representative Director.
1992
Introduced NFS-1000 Fit/Unfit Banknote Sorting Machine.
Administrative and Accounting department was moved to Setagaya-ku,Tokyo and Yoga Office was established.
1993
Billcon Service was changed to ABS Co.,Ltd.
1994
Acquired business license from Auto Stamp Co.,Ltd. Marketed Revenue Stamp Machine, Queuing System and Stamping machine.
Sales, Administrative and Accounting Department were moved to the Bakuro-cho head office, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Osaka Office was established.
1996
ABS was changed to Billcon Engineering Corporation.
1997
Acquired maintenance service license of various testing and measuring machines manufactured by Tokyo Koki Seizosho,Ltd. from Toko Testack,Ltd.
1998
Introduced new Revenue Stamp Machine and new Queuing System.
1999
Electric golf cart "Walkalong" EC-301 introduced to create new market.
2000
Introduced Currency Discrimination Counter D-501.
2001
Introduced new Compact Note Counter N-series. Introduced Compact Queuing System "EYE-QUE flex".Announced new "Walkalong"EC-401.
Tatsuo Hayashi became President and Representative Director.
2002
Masaharu Hirooka became President (CEO). Certificated ISO 9001.
Dusseldorf Liaison Office was established.
2003
Introduced personal golf navigation "PGN-10".
2004
To manage our golf business, Navi Creation Inc. (now Walkalong Inc.) was established.
Introduced personal golf navigation "PGN-20".
Introduced note counter "N-160 Series" and "N-170 Series".
Introduced high speed coin counter "CHS-10" and card issuing machine "PCM-400B".
2006
Introduced new revenue stamp machine "RA-1/1J".
2007
Introduced heavy duty PDA for professionals "Tough'it".
2008
Introduced new EYE-QUE display panel "PS Series". Introduced new promissory note issuing machine "CW-305/315".
Introduced new revenue stamp machine "RB-1/1D".
2009
Certificated ISO 14001: 2004.
Head office moved to Kuji, Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa.
2010
Introduced new EYE-QUE products, ticket machine "PCM-500" and operating monitor "TM-50", etc.
2011
Introduced new compact EYE-QUE® products, "EYE-QUE EX".
2012
Introduced new Compact Note Counter "N-120A", and "N-130*A".
